Why I Use Human Design and the Gene Keys as Tools for Awakening

Systems can help us understand ourselves better, either through resonance or contrast.

Throughout my journey, I have explored several systems at various stages: personality types, astrology, etc. And they have each brought me more understanding…or not!

There are many paths to the same place…awakening to your true nature — to the illusion of our mentally constructed reality. Finding your path and the systems that support it is key to your journey.

What I’ve noticed is that some systems have a profound and lasting impact on me, meaning I keep returning to them to mine for more gold. And I keep finding it.

This is why I use Human Design and the Gene Keys for my own journey. Without being dogmatic, I can experiment to find my own truth. It’s also how I help my clients do the same.

Since the conception of both of these systems, our understanding of cellular biology has evolved tremendously. We now know that we are not the victims of our DNA, but rather co-creators with it. Our behaviors, attitudes, and environments influence our DNA every moment. In fact, the cellular membrane shows more intelligence than DNA itself, as it governs what is allowed to enter the cell.

In the words of Richard Rudd, creator of the Gene Keys and leader in Human Design for over 10 years:

“With a Human Design bodygraph in your hands you therefore become a creator rather than an observer. Every word you relate to, both through your mind and your heart takes that frequency and passes it via the cellular membrane into the DNA waiting inside every cell of your being.

Human Design and the Gene Keys are essentially the same wisdom stream, interpreted differently. Combined, they are a powerful force of awakening, via shedding what is not true for you (your conditioning) through experimentation.

Human Design

Human Design, created by a man named Ra Hu Ru, is an energetic blueprint of your incarnation in this lifetime, from both your body and your soul’s perspective. It tells you how energy is structured and how it flows in your physical body. Understanding this tells you very practical things like

• the best way for you to make decisions
• how to listen to your body
• how to make the most of your energy every day
• understanding how you take on others’ energy
• how you interact with others in a visible and invisible way
• what daily routines you need, if any

The Gene Keys

The Gene Keys, created by Richard Rudd, is a derivative of Human Design which illustrates the gifts and shadows you are here to work with via a 3-dimensional spectrum of consciousness:

• shadow frequency (fear-based)
• gift frequency (human potential)
• siddhic frequency (divine essence)

It is a contemplative tool that reveals in-depth information about your purpose, your life’s work, your health, and your relationships. It points you back to yourself, revealing your tendencies and fears as well as the specific gifts you are here to share with the world.

Together

The way I see them is that Human Design is the masculine component, providing the architecture of the physical body, our vehicle. It reveals the way our body operates most efficiently as a conduit of our energy. Gene Keys, on the other hand, is the feminine component, the blueprint of our soul. The map of our incarnation in this lifetime, that unfolds as we do, and sheds light on our deepest essence.

By overlaying the Gene Keys onto the Human Design bodygraph, you will find endless possibilities and answers to almost any question you encounter on your awakening journey.

Together, these two systems weave a magical yellow brick road for us to walk, step-by-step. We can return to them, over and over, as we are ready for the next leg of our journey.
